CTC EDUCATOR HONOURED WITH INAUGURAL EDUCATION AWARD

CANADIAN TOURISM COLLEGE EDUCATOR HONOURED WITH INAUGURAL EDUCATION AWARD
OTTAWA – April 25, 2013 – Today, Gwynne Whitby-Thomas, an instructor of Travel & Tourism at the Canadian Tourism College was honoured as the winner of the National Association of Career Colleges’ first ever Educator of the Year Award. This new award is presented to an educator at a career college who has a passion for education, is inspiring to those around them and is a proven leader.
James Loder, Chair of the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC), presented the award during NACC’s 2013 Conference & AGM in Vancouver, BC.
“I was extremely impressed with the number of nominations received for this award. It illustrates how many talented educators are at career colleges in Canada,” said NACC’s Chief Executive Officer, Serge Buy. “Gwynne is a very gifted instructor, and our sector is lucky to have her.”
Ms. Whitby-Thomas demonstrated outstanding leadership, inspiration and passion for education.
“It was such an honour to be able to tell Gwynne that she has earned the inaugural Educator of the Year Award from the NACC,” said Kim Russell, President of Canadian Tourism College’s Surrey Campus. “Gwynne is a dedicated professional that exemplifies all that an outstanding teacher should be. Everyone at CTC is very proud of her. Well done, Gwynne!”

We are seeking Guest Services Associates for Carnival Cruise Lines.
GSA’s are the "information center" of the whole ship. You will be dealing with check in/out, passenger questions, complaints and inquires. You will also be doing foreign exchange, banking services, opening and closing of shipboard accounts and providing safety deposit boxes for the guests.
To be qualified for this position you must:
* have at least 1 year recent experience working the front desk of a large/busy hotel or resort.
* be at least 21 years old
* able to commit to a 6 month contract at sea
* have boundless energy
* be flexible
* truly enjoy working with guests!
* always be smiling.
* bilingualism is an asset
Hotel Administration Coordinators for Carnival Cruise Lines.
Hotel Admin Support the Hotel Director in his/her daily administrative duties, attend and prepare minutes of Hotel Director’s meetings and Snr Management meetings, prepare all paperwork required for the ship’s clearance in ports and much, much more.
To be qualified for this position you must:
* have at least 1 year recent experience working in administration.
* be at least 21 years old
* able to commit to a 6 month contract at sea
* have boundless energy
* be flexible
* have extreme attention to detail
* possess excellent computer and communication skills and time management skills.
* be very mature minded
Boutique Sales Associates for Starboard Cruise Services.
Sales Associates work in the on board duty-free stores.
To be qualified for this position you must:
* have at least two years’ experience working in retail
* be at least 21 years old
* able to commit to a 6 month contract at sea
* have boundless energy
* be flexible
* previous experience in jewelry, liquor, duty-free is a plus
* promotional/microphone skills an asset
* Japanese and Dutch speakers are widely sought.

Please visit this current web page for any announcements regarding college closures or any other updates, rescheduled or changes in class times etc. For future snow falls or inclement weather updates our website will be the the most current source for information.
