ADVANCED.fst Level 2

  • 17.5 hours self study

This level 2 certificate is the next level in food safety training. It is ideally suited to those students wishing to gain a management or supervisory responsibility for food and beverage production in either the hotel or food service industry. The level 2 certificate is recognized in all provinces of Canada and also internationally. Students gain a complete understanding of food hygiene regulations and practices and gain knowledge of the concepts relating to the food chain. This in depth course examines all perspectives of the food hygiene cycle and in particular the responsibilities required from the management perspective. This course is only available in hard copy work book format and the CTC proctored final examination at a CTC campus is a key requirement for assessment.

Please note that the Advanced.fst does not require the BASICS.fst as a prerequisite. The Advanced Level 2 training combines both the BASICS.fst Level 1 and additional higher level training resulting in the required competency.

Work book study time approximately 15 hours Examination time - two and a half hours.

Upon successful completion of the course book and examination, certificates will be issued directly from TRAINCAN via a CTC campus.
