Sussanah Enright

Hospitality Resort and Business Management Diploma

What was the most beneficial part of your training?
Learning about the industry though mentors that had been involved in it rather than reading about those experiences in books. the knowledge and connections I gained throughout my time at CTC will forever be invaluable.
Where are you working now?
Capilano Golf and Country Club as the Catering Manager
How does working in your field compare to the training you received at CTC?
Similar. I work in a private club so a lot of the things I learned about the hospitality industry come in hand however I have had to adapt to this whole other industry that is still apart of hospitality.
Tell us about your day to day work life
I organize all of the events at the club, from galas, weddings and golf tournaments to wine dinners, tastings and private family dinners. I spend most of my regular days in the office communicating with members and organizers. On event days i’m very hands on making sure to help my team out as much as possible on the floor. I am in constant contact with our Executive Chef and his team as well as the Restaurant and F&B Manager.
How has CTC impacted your life?
You cannot build a place like CTC without the people who make it what it is. Those people made an incredible difference in the way I saw my future and gave me confidence to achieve those goals. I never thought at the age of 22 I would be the Catering Manager of one of Canada’s premier Golf Courses but the people around me, the people who guided me did. CTC was a great place for me to find my passion for the industry and make great connections along the way.
